Curiosity Assignment (noun, my own term)

A self-directed project I run to answer a question that no one has asked yet.

“If you fix something before we ask, write down what it saved us—otherwise it never happened.”
— Mail-room colleague, 2009

I started labelling those fixes “Curiosity Assignments” in a private spreadsheet. The name stuck for twenty years. Today they’re my sandbox: a way to test ideas, keep problem-solving muscles warm, and share the output with whoever might find it useful.

Each post is a lightweight field-report—sometimes a single-page write-up, sometimes a live CodePen, GitHub repo, or sandbox URL.
